CES 2021. Solar cell remote control can be operated by both indoor and outdoor lights, or just regular USB if the former two are insufficient.
According to Samsung, the remote itself is also quite eco-friendly, as 24 percent of its 31 grams of plastic are made from "recycled polyethylene terephthalate".
The company says the solar-powered remote control will "help prevent waste from an estimated 99 million AAA batteries over seven years." Of course, you can help reduce this by using rechargeable batteries at first, but a solar-powered remote control will at least reduce their dependence on them. Samsung has stated that it is taking steps to enhance environmentally friendly packaging in 2021.
